I should probably clarify my position. My belief is that there is never any reason to upgrade unless there is something in the new version you want. One of the other posters stated that they wanted the Unicode features in Fin12 and was already on Fin11. In that case, there is no reason not to upgrade unless you are planning to enter a lot of pre-1900 instrumental music in Finale.
