I have followed the instruction in FAQ8.12, but no joy.
fink install system-xfree86
returns
Failed: no package found for specification 'system-xfree86'!
Where does the FAQ say that you should install system-xfree86? Please read it again (FAQ#8.11 for Panther rather than 8.12). There is *no* system-xfree86 package for Panther that you can install. It is a virtual package that shows up automatically if your X11 installation is complete.
