Check "fink info xfree86" and "fink info xfree86-shlibs"

I bet nothing was installed so you don't have to worry about deleting
anything. Remember to install the Apple X11 SDK as well.

One is to use Apple's X11 (on the disks that came with your Mac) the

If I use Apple's X11, I suppose I have to delete my xfree86 quasi-installation as well?
Can somebody give me an advice, what and how? Has somebody already done it?
I found the following here (scroll down to Section 3.6):
http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/x11/inst-xfree86.php?phpLang=en

To manually, remove them, you use the dpkg with the --force-depends option, like so:
sudo dpkg -r --force-depends xfree86-rootless\
xfree86-rootless-shlibs xfree86-base xfree86-base-shlibs
</quote>

So should I use this, what do you think? Should I then type this? (below)
sudo dpkg -r --force-depends xfree86\ xfree86-shlibs

Besides, I would like to make sure that I really have to remove xfree86.

Are there any users at this list who have the Intel Mac and have
successfully installed xfree86?

And the most important question, does somebody understand what
happened at my system?

--------------------------
$ sudo apt-get install xfree86
[...]
Setting up xfree86-shlibs (4.5.0-1024) ...
Setting up xfree86 (4.5.0-1024) ...
/sw/var/lib/dpkg/info/xfree86.postinst: line 23: 12868 Segmentation fault /usr/X11R6/bin/fc-cache
/sw/bin/dpkg: error processing xfree86 (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 139
Errors were encountered while processing:
xfree86
E: Sub-process /sw/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

For me, it looks like xfree86 was installed, but then something happened,
because some "subprocess post-installation script returned error".
Am I right? Then I should probably install something else from, say,
development kits, and try again? I was actually amazed that fink got
installed without any problems, even if I didn't quite understand
installation instructions... (any developers reading this list? good work!)
