Hi, I've got fink installed and have also installed a couple of x applications, as well as xorg vis fink cvs. That's installed xdarwin into applications which opens a couple of windows when started - login(?) and xterm. I've also added a line to .profile to set $DISPLAY in bash.
What's the best way to load my x apps for working with them? Ideally I'd just like to load terminal and load the app from there, without even thinking about xdarwin, is this possible? Also, when loading apps, they don't appear right away, i need to click the xdarwin xterm window before the app appears. Is this standard? (The app is appearing on a non-mirrored external monitor vis dvi (macbook)). Thirdly, xdarwin and x apps are very slow to load, anything to improve this?
