Unfortunately, 10.5 is not supported by the project any more and I don't 
have a 10.5 environment handy for testing fixes.  If I could get a group 
of 10.5 enthusiasts to chip in enough money where I didn't have to keep 
my day job, I'd definitely remedy that. :-)

It looks like fink might have rewritten your sources.list.  You might 
want to check that.  I'm not seeing evidence of your .deb lines in the 
output above.  Try putting the revised lines in a "local" region of 
sources.list--where the comments say that it's safe to add local 
repositories.

If that doesn't work, you can still download the .deb files manually 
from within 
http://bindist.finkmirrors.net/10.5/dists/stable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/{text,x11,devel}
 
and use "sudo dpkg -i <path/to/filename.deb>" to install them.

And it's probably safe to turn off binary distribution access to fink in 
"Fink configure", since the binary distribution was built in July 2008 
and most packages have been updated since then.
