No idea what could be causing that.  Looks like something is affecting 
X11 and its display file in /tmp, but I don't even know where to start 
troubleshooting that (plus haven't used ppc/10.5 in probably 7 or 8 
years).  A system reboot might help clean up the launch display 
directories in /tmp, but I can't offer any help beyond that.  Also, if 
using any window manager besides Apple's quartz-wm, try to simplify your 
.xinitrc (or even move it to test against a clean startup).
