Martin: installing tetex from the bindist has never been possible, and
has given users trouble for a long time. I admit that things got
suddenly worse when CTAN stopped distributing the tetex-texmf sourcefile,
but at Fink we'll be in a similar situation any time a Restrictive
package has its source pulled from public view.

I've been trying to get a new bindist out ever since this happened,
which will not only cure the current bad situation but will also
allow a binary install of teTeX via Fink for the first time ever.
As you may know, the progress here was slowed by two other things:
the libpng3 problem, and the unfortunate "index grows to infinity"
problem in fink-0.12.0-1. These have both now been solved, and once
everything moves to stable within a week or so, I can make a new
bindist.

I hope that your TeXMacs folks can be patient (or can use GW's distro)
until then.
