Both ftp.ysbl.york.ac.uk (AKA typhoeus.chem.york.ac.uk (144.32.72.225)) and www.ysbl.york.ac.uk (AKA twiki.chem.york.ac.uk (144.32.72.243)) don't seem to accept ping requests. The former doesn't accept passive ftp and chokes on some other ftp commands as we have seen. Anal firewall, most likely.
IIUC, Bill proposes to put the sources on the http server instead of the ftp server. This change of protocol might work.
