Very understandable. I don't think there will be much objection 
concerning ghostscript, because it is relatively small, and the current 
version of system-ghostscript didn't really work anyway recently, so 
there won't be many disappointed users. For system-tetex this might be 
different, due to the big size.

Especially if, like for GWtex, there exist several different versions 
with differing file layout.

For ghostscript, the overall situation could be simplified at least by 
scrapping all those ghostscript{6,7} packages. I am not aware of 
anything contemporary that still needs them.
