My recollection is that the PSM was put in place at version 0.9.9 . I have used mozilla to visit secured sites since that version, with no problems (I'm running 1.0rc3 now). I installed from source, using the unstable tree for everything. 0.9.8 is still the latest version one can get from source using the stable tree. -- Alexander K.
