You might be interested in Mac OS X Server 10.2 -- with tools such as 
OpenDirectory (completely based on LDAP -- although with "glue" for 
backwards compatibility (if needed) when working with NetInfo), 
WorkGroup Manager, and NetBoot, it appears as if the Mac OS X Server 
(10.2) product is truly starting to dovetail from its common core with 
Mac OS X Client (Jaguar).
