I have been trying to build xfree86 on Panther today. Every time I do, I wind up with a bunch of the stuff in /usr/X11R6/bin as empty files. Among them are startx, gccmakedep, mergelib, makefontdir, rstart, rstartd and the list goes on. X obviously won't even attempt to start up. Any ideas what is happening? I have yet to capture the build and do some searching. I may try that tomorrow. These empty files all appear to be shell scripts.
