Title: Re: [Fink-users] Problem installing amarok on 10.4.2
 I mean my /sw/etc/fink.conf reads
Trees: local/main unstable/main unstable/crypto

I ran fink selfupdate and fink update-all and then fink install amarok but the message “no packages to install” appears.  I am obviously missing something here.  The folder amarok with sources appeared on my computer, perhaps a result of fink build amarok?  When trying to build amarok myself from said folder I at first get a gcc error.  Changing gcc to 3.3 and then trying again, I get an error that qt isn’t installed even though it is.

Clarify this:  what do you mean by "sources file"?  /sw/etc/fink.conf or
/sw/etc/apt/sources.list ?  The latter won't give you access to the
unstable tree.

And I just noticed that you said "fink build amarok"--if you didn't use
"fink install" then the lack of an executable isn't surprising.
