Now I might add something to this. Don't know if it's useful or not. I
don't think I've been able to replicate it at all so I don't know if I can
be any more helpful than to just offer what happened.
I also have a TiBook and today some weird things started happening to my
sound all over the place...
I tried to play a track in iTunes and it just would not play - the play
button became a pause button, thus acknowledging that play was pressed, but
the little black diamond did not move forward, nor did the time increase on
the track. It was as if it was paused, but pausing and playing did not
change anything. Restarting iTunes did nothing to fix it.
While all this was going on, I did seem to lose sound in Fire as well,
although at least some other apps' sounds still worked (Entourage for one
still told me audibly when I received email).
Restarting my Mac seemed the only thing that fixed it all up as far as I can
tell.
Don't know if that's useful, but it is yet another perspective on the sounds
issues. It may be relevant in that it included Fire and iTunes, but
appeared to include nothing else.
If it's helpful then I'm glad and if not then my sincere apologies :-)
Cheers...
