OK. I have downloaded DDEX 2.1.0.0 and followed the installation instructions. Guess what? It doesn't work.
In VS 2005 I can now see the Firebird provider in the list of options and the Firebird configuration dialog appears when I selection the Firebird provider. BUT, as press any key to enter a parameter the dialog closes. If I don't enter anything and click OK I get the following error: Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider. It may not be installed. I have doubled and triple checked the machine.config file and .reg file settings.
