It would be a good idea to put a call to start the firewall

Do I just put "/etc/init.d/firewall start" without the quotes in the
if-up or is there any certain way that it needs to be worded?

I'm not too familiar with ppp configurations, but I believe that should work fine.

Just found out that I didn't have to use anything. I disconnected for a phone call. Then did a reboot. The firewall started just fine during the reboot. I connected to the internet and the Windows machine was still able to connect.

Thanks so much for all your help and for creating the firewall. I didn't like the Shorewall firewall that Mandrake internet sharing wizard kept insisting on using. Hopefully, I can help someone else because of what I've been through.
