Hello,

I've been following this discussion for sometime and it looks to me that it is
just like the discussion between tabagists and anti-tabagists...

Everybody knows that smoking can cause, among other things, cancer. It is
written everywhere, including the cigarrete packs. So, if one decides to smoke
he can't be considered unwarned or unaware of the risks. Anyways it is a
personal decision: everybody is free to decide how to live and how to die.

The same happens when someone runs into a Microsoft solution. Everybody knows
that their software is not intended for real professional (mission critic)
work. Everybody knows that MS OSes are subjected to horrible bugs, incomplete
implementatios, viruses and all sort of shortcomings that would make it good
only for entreteirment or home use. These facts are documented in tons of
sheets of paper printed in magazines, several megabytes of information stored
in web-pages, e-mails, newsgroups, etc. So if IT managers and strategic
planning people are still deciding to trust their luck on Windows NT/95/98 and
the related products (MS Office, MIS, Exchange server, etc... included) they
know the long term damage they're causing to their companies and to the
interests of the stock holders. This is out of question. But in my point of
view, this is a problem to be cared by the stock holders who are the business
owners and also the customers who will depend on the quality of service
provided by the company that is using MS solutions.

Best regards,

Casimiro de Almeida Barreto
