What was it licensed for then? Here is some stuff I have found:

VxWorks - Appears to be used extensively in the MGX product lines and at
least some of the content switches. In fact, I can find a number of articles
about how to use VxWorks commands at the CLI

As for QNX, you have

seems to imply that it is used in some products as the real-time OS. Is it
used in the PIX itself or under the IOS? Dunno, but it damned sure seems to
be used somewhere.
