i directly create debs from the darcs source and install those, thus
replacing the old version completely every time. no confusion of
versions other than fish instances that are still running.


but it is not that bad.
the fish instances are recovering.
however, they send fishd into some loop for a while everytime i start a
new instance. then after a long while i get:
