Which of the two porblems: endless loop while starting or endless loop
when deleting a boundary character?  Do you remove the released
version and all its files, install the darcs version, and kill all
fishd and fish instances, and you can't start a copy of fish?  If so,
that is exactly one of the cases I described.

Try to reproduce the behavior I get and I'll try to reproduce yours,
but you have to tell me step by step shat you did.

How long does it take for it to die?  I wait for 15 copies of the
messgae "read: Connection reset by peer" and it does not die.
Meanwhile, it is using up all the processor.
