Genie,
My vet tells me to get the angles of the feet on my Fjords to 52` at least.
One gelding he wants as high as 54` and square off the toes on fronts and
backs. The breakover is good to do, especially on one mare who is so
klutzy! She tripped and went down one time with my trainer because her toes
were too long. I'm a firm believer in the steeper angle for the Fjords.
Another mare pulled a tendon after a so-called farrier worked on her feet
and really messed her up with lower angles and shoes set on the
soles.....and he went to farrier school. I used to do better than that!! I
stand over the farrier and make sure he does what I want. I'm paying for
it!! ....I think they're afraid of this old lady!!
