Okay, I'll say it first. I'd say the stallion Vjostar is a crossbred.

But Dagrun, look at his pedigree. By the elite stallion Fjelljon
http://fjordstudbook.com/h-fjeljon.htm (bred, born and approved in
Norway) out of the elite mare Gaea who is by the Danish stallion Hjerter
Knaegt and out of the elite mare Asta. Since Holland does DNA testing
wouldn't his pedigree be without doubt?
I have seen other very dark brown dun Fjords who don't have the white on
the sides of the mane, like Kila Grani has very little white. I wondered
if that was why some countries prefer the light brown dun. This is what
Tor Nestaas' colour article says regarding brown duns: "The light
coloured horses have white forelocks and white hairs on the mane's
outside. On darker individuals, these hairs are also darker."
I would agree that the marking on Vjostar's neck is an enhanced version
of the withers stripe.
