"Hey Ruthie,

Did you have any of your Fjords evaluated this year? And have you had them
evaluated in previous evaluations? I sue wish we could get the latest
Evaluation results..When I bought the book I understood that it was to be
added to with each subsequent evaluation. It sure would be nice to be able
to see ALL the results shortly after the evaluations are finished!"<<

It would be nice to have the results immediately. Unfortunately (as usual) there have been some glitches along the way. Sandy North is currently hard at work (burning the midnight oil after her regular job and on weekends) entering the final data for the the next Record Book, then there is proofing and it will be off to the printers. This next RB will contain data from all of the evaluations since 2000. If I counted correctly, it will include 12 evaluations. Plenty to compare, along with the initial RB. There also continues to be talk about publishing the data on-line and working out the details along those lines.

If we were a large enough organization, such as the AQHA, or the APHA, or whatever, we might be able to hire a full staff to ensure these things get done, but comparatively speaking, our membership is quite small and we still have to rely on volunteers to get a lot of the work done. Along the way, communication can become stymied for one reason or another.

Like the lack of communication/information passed along about changes in the evaluation procedures that Margaret Bogie was talking about (I'm not sure what specifically she was talking about, but I know that some changes had been made) the NFHR can always work towards better communication (whether it be concerning evaluations, or publishing the meeting minutes on-line in an appropriate time frame.) I know that these are issues that the NFHR Board of Directors have taken on during their recent face-to-face meeting. I, like you, am looking forward to seeing the results of the meeting published.

Beth
