YES, perception is everything, as they say. Good thoughts Beth. I have noticed increasing promotion which bears out this misperception. I wasn't criticizing the EC as having literally promoted selective breeding..(as I don't know) ..it is just an end result of ANY graded system (not just ribbons) .. how does any breed not drift into the mindset of selective breeding? it seems to be human nature to be attracted to colors, sporty types, smooth movers, popular stallions, etc. ..which in itself may not be wrong, but I'm sure there is always a need to make concentrated efforts for bloodlines outside our ordinary breeding boundaries.
