HI-after 12 days with no power, I can finally use the computer but that
also means I can use the stove, vacuum, washing maching....things I
didn't miss that much! Lots of trees took out our fence but 3 neighbors
had their homes demolished so we were lucky. Having the series of
tornadoes 5 days after the hurricane was too exciting....more trees down
but the horses are fine-Loki didn't miss any meals. My question is: the
storms blew lots of leaves/branches of wild cherry trees into my fields.
I've been afraid to let my horses in the pastures. We raked the 3
paddocks & still missed some wild cherry leaves that I picked up by
hand. I know the leaves are poisonous when wilted...but what does wilted
mean? I'm finding green leaves, brown & crunchy leaves but no wilted
leaves. The d*** leaves seem to "revive" with dew or rain. I just don't
know when it'll be safe to return the horses to the fields. Repairing
the fence boards was so simple compared to the worrying about the wild
cherry leaves which blow over from the neighbors....we've destroyed every
cherry tree on our place. We even cut some of our neighbors' trees in
the woods but can't cut the ones in their yards & we've asked permission
to do that but they refused. Wish the storms had blown those trees over
instead of the oaks & pines! Sandra in Va.
