OK. This e-mail is not intended at anyone in particular. I just picked Bill's e-mail since it was the last one in this thread. Sorry Bill.

Mr. Painter is entitled to his opinions and his perceptions as he sees them. You may not agree with them and you have a right to disagree in a professional and civilized manner, just as Mr. Painter should do in kind, but lets not let this thread degrade into a bashing contest. That is not the purpose of the reflector.

Just for reference, here are the Reflector Rules and Guidelines http://www.flexradio.com/Support.aspx?topic=Reflector_Guidelines

Thanks for your patience and understanding. Have a great day and make some QSOs.

Maybe it's just my insatiable sense of wonder that lead me to this, but the
Flex website says that the V/U module is not available for sale in countries
that require a CE certification. Unless I read the message wrong, the
originator of the thread signed his name and callsign, the latter being
G4PNX. QRZ shown that callsign as an English license. According to the
information listed at http://www.emergogroup.com/**
services/europe/where-ce-mark-**is-required<http://www.emergogroup.com/services/europe/where-ce-mark-is-required>,
England (as part of the UK) is listed as requiring such certification. That
suggests to me that G4PNX doesn't own a 5K and isn't involved in whether the
software works or not.

So, that leads me to wonder whether the individual protesting so loudly
really perceives himself to be an "injured party", or perhaps found his
favourite pub closed for lunch, today?

Just wondering.

FWIW, I don't work for anybody...well, other than SWMBO.

Bravo to both Brian and Peter for good, solid common sense.

I can get just as exercised as the next guy when a vendor will not supply
PRECISELY what I want...and on MY time schedule, thank you very much. But
I
have (mostly) disciplined myself not to go off on rants when my needs,
wishes, and desires don't trump everyone else's.

Sometimes it makes a lot of sense to age an email for a day before you
send
it.

Bravo, Mr. Lloyd.
That's probably the most well-balanced and intelligent summary of the
situation with PowerSDR that I've ever read.

I'm sure we *all* have our little, particular, things that we'd like to
see
done to/with PowerSDR. I'm sure we all find it difficult to believe that
our little, particular, feature or fix hasn't been done yet. But
resources
are limited. So stop whinging about why your little, particular, feature
or
fix isn't done yet. Evaluate PowerSDR for what it currently is and
compare
the Flex radio with its current feature set to the others that are
available. I, for one, can't imagine using a radio without a big honkin'
pan adapter with click-tuning. So, for me, Flex wins. Even though MY
little particular wants, some years old, haven't been implemented. Yet.
