Al- Thanks for the KB article. I use spectrum analyzers in my work, so it makes a lot of sense.
Unfortunately it doesn't help explain why I am seeing such a big difference in noise level between my IC735 and the Flex 5K. Even by narrowing the BW of the flex down to 1.0K and adjusting the AGC-T, I cant achieve a noise level lower than S5.5. My IC 735 has a more pleasant listening experience right now with a S1-S2 noise level. On rare occasions when the front end of a spectrum analyzer was damaged, we noticed the noise level would go up significantly. I think I may give Flex a call to see if there is a way to determine if it is damaged.
