I am sure that the sudden availability of used Flex 3000 and 5000 rigs is due to the new release of the 6000 series. Most of us can't afford a second high-end rig and have to sell the old one in order to afford something new. I kept my 3000 until after my 5000 arrived, but there is a big difference in price between those radio and the series 6000.
Now, I am one of the lucky ones. I can buy whatever radio equipment I want and I don't have to ask the XYL. Nice, huh. No consulting, justifying, begging, pleading, or live animal sacrifice. Nothing. There's a catch though. For ever dollar I spend on amateur radio equipment, I have to make a dollar available for purchase of a household item. New furniture, carpet, appliances, etc. With that arrangement, the new 6700 I want is going to cost me over $15,000.00. And you ask why I have to sell my 5000 before I buy anything else? :) -- Steve Miller w6sdm.net _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
