Thanks Tim,
I guess that makes sence, If you were to be listening to 2 different Bands,
each on a different Antenna and
SCU, the ATU could not be tuned to each at the same time. However: an
external ATU could then
fill the Gap....
Correct???

I need to clarify one of my previous statements.
The RX signal path inside the radio does go through the ATU (if enabled)
when ANT-1 or ANT-2 (transceiver port) is assigned to SCU-1. If using a
FLEX-6700, this only applies to SCU-1. SCU-2 does not go through the ATU.

Thanks Tim,
In my mind I was trying to associate a SCU with a path from a Specific
SO239 Connection,
Your Wording of "Transceiver Port" Helps clear that up.
I should have know this thing was more "Flexable" than that.
I still need the ability to switch multipal antennas to either of the
transceiver ports. I think the unit I am building
will help in that area.
Thanks again for the reply.

Ken,
The internal ATU is only in the TX signal chain, so it is not
connected to either SCU. Remember, the SCU is a wide band RF spectrum
ADC, so if you are transmitting on one frequency, you still have the
ability to receive on the other slice receivers defined on that SCU or
other SCU in the case of the FLEX-6700.
There are (2) SO-239 transceiver connectors on both the FLEX-6500 and
the FLEX-6700. The FLEX-6500 has one RX in/out loop that can be assigned
to it's SCU and the FLEX-6700 has two RX in/out loops for it's two SCUs.
SCUs can be assigned to a RX only or a transceiver port.
I suspect that the manual will not be available until the software is
available.
In regards to the needed "Support Group" to help manage SWS (SDR
Withdrawal Syndrome), we have been selling a few FLEX-1500s to help
bridge the gap. ;-)

To Tim, or someone at Flex
I have on order a Flex 6700 and am planning for what I believe will be
necessary in the order of external Antenna switching.
I have designed and am in the process of building an Antenna Matrix which
will allow for any of 5 Antennas to be connected to either of the 2
SCU's.
There will be Pic Processor control which will stop any invalid
connection, Like more than 2 Antennas selected or more than one
connected to the same SCU.
My External Antenna Tuner, Amp, and Power Master unit can be put in
line with either of the SCU's. or not used at all.
In the process I started thinking about the Internal ATU.....
Can it be used with either SCU ???
Will it keep settings if I were to switch transmitt from one SCU to the
other on different Bands ?
Also I assume the 6500 only has one SO239 connector on its SCU on the
rear....
Will we be able to see a Manual some time before the first units start
shipping in Q4 ??
I think we need a support group for those of us that have sold their
Flex's and are now FlexLess until the new 6000 series arrives hi hi
