Jim, The amateur radio service is NOT an emergency communications service according to the FCC regulations? I beg to differ! The very first section of Part 97, the "Basis and Purpose" of the amateur service clearly states that the amateur radio service has emergency communications as one of its purposes.
Specifically, paragraph 97.1(a) states, "Recognition and enhancement of the value of the amateur service to the public as a voluntary noncommercial communication service, particularly with respect to providing emergency communications." 73, Ray, K9DUR _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kb.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
