I'll answer the last question first. Ed (W2RF) has not updated his branch to support the new driver. Only version 1.16.2 (released), the SVN Trunk and the SVN branch TEST have support for the new driver. It is up to the individuals who host a branch to update their code to support new drivers and firmware. Question 2: I am not sure I fully understand your question about sampling rate.
