That is a good problem to have :-) The FLEX-x000 performs very well for general RX on the higher bands. The spur junk is most prevalent below 160m. Images can be a problem unless you are using a version of PowerSDR that has the WBIR code it in (SVN).
It still hears best in the ham bands :-) -Tim -----Original Message----- From: flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz [mailto:flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz] On Behalf Of Mel Whitten Sent: Monday, November 02, 2009 5:09 PM To: FlexRadio Subject: Re: [Flexradio] 1.18.3 issue Tim, ..that being said, I've not had an issue on the SWL bands that has caused any real "annoyance." I had one SWL-er complain of my "superior" receiving capability of DX DRM stations. He said it was far from the "norm" and that I should always indicate what equipment was using when making reports. He does have a point, of course. But, I like these kind of complaints. :-) I am decoding RNZI in DRM (radio new Zealand intl) right now in the19m band. Sounds just like a local FM station. I've done a lot of comparisons with SWL reception using an Icom IC-8500 receiver and the Flex 5ka. The Icom has never beat out the Flex with higher SNR measurements in DRM on any band.
