They are one in the same. It is an AF equalizer that integrates into the AF
audio chain like any other equalizer.

Subject: [Flexradio] naive question...

I would like a short explanation of just exactly what function the
Receive and Transmit Equalizers in pSDR perform. The Users' Manual
simply states that they are "there" and how to set them, with no
explanation of what they do.

In common lingo, an equalizer tailors the shape of the passband of
an audio channel, much the same as the "treble" and "bass" controls do
on an ordinary radio. I am used to the "equalizer boards" found in music
recording applications, and my naive assumption was that these controls
in pSDR control the same sort of functions on the receive and transmit
audio. Is this correct?

I have complaints that my audio is "bassy." [F3K, USB, 6 meters] The
microphone is a Heil HM-5 and the mike gain is set so that voice peaks
show around 0 dB on the meter. If my interpretation is correct, this
could be taken care of with the "transmit equalizer," cutting the bass
and boosting the mid-range and treble ends. Again, I need some
reassurance that my understanding of the word "equalizer" in pSDR is the
same as the common usage. Some guidance about amount of boost and
attenuation would be useful.

    Thanks...
