Most home and office UPS's are off-line systems, so they will have a few milliseconds of switchover time during which there is no AC power supplied to the computer. I've seen "interesting" thing happen when the filter caps in the computer power supply get old and start to fail. They don't have enough storage capacity to hold up the power supply rails until the UPS can start supplying power to the computer. That drove me crazy for a while when my server would crash whenever the AC mains power would bump a couple of times in quick succession. The server would crash and fail to reboot properly every time, but is the power simply went away completely, the computer would keep running just fine. Replacing the power supply caps fixed the problem. 73, Ralph W5JGV - WD2XSH/7 _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
