Support from that guys is usually great. Much better than from the ati binary guys. But somebody needs to do ... The best chance to get support is to have a small testcase (don't call fg small! :) which could be submitted to bugs.freedesktop.org.
Also the chance that this is already fixed with the next pending xorg release is high IMO. I dan no longer try, but if somebody can install the current release candidate and see if it is still there, we will know. Ok, I know about the upstream lag for X releases. This is a major problem, but it is also an offtopic for this list ...
