button 0 = Left button
button 1 = Middle button
button 2 = Right button? (can't use this, FGFS internal)
button 3 = Mouse wheel forward
button 4 = Mouse wheel back

Josh raises some valid points here. I've been playing with the pick
animation over the past few days. I set the action for buttons 0 and 4
to adjust altimeter settings up and buttons 1 and 3 to adjust down.
Both change in 0.01 steps, buttons 0 and 1 have a 0.1 second repeat rate
buttons 3 and 4 can not be held down so repeat isn't possible. The
rapid repeat rate means you can use buttons 0 and 1 for coarse adjust
and buttons 3 and 4 for fine adjustments. It works well for me and is
more intuitive than clicking left or right of the knob.

I like the idea of using the left button to increase a switch/knob and
the middle button to decrease said knob. I also like pairing the mouse
wheel to spin knobs and dials.

Can we count on most people today having a wheel or at least three
button mice?
