That git seems very code-orientated, and I don't know of anyone using it as a binary data repository. It's a job CVS is dreadful at, of course, but equally, something that SVN was explicitly designed to be good at. But it's not as if I've had a bad experience using git for binary data - I just don't have much git experience at all, so far. I really like what I see for code, but I'm very aware that what is good for code is sometimes bad for data. Not necessarily though!
