The difference between illogical, messy and inconsistent on the one
side, and sane on the other is not "cosmetical". What about trying
to go the right route, rather than the easy one? What are your
technical arguments for the "proposed" directory layout? That you
suggested it at a time where you aren't willing to modify it anymore?
That's neither technical *nor* cosmetical. That's just introducing
bad design out of laziness.   :-P

PS: I know that these scenery improvements are a lot of work, and
    it must be pretty frustrating to get mostly critical reactions,
    while the big achievements usually go unnoticed. That's life.
    But it's also a good sign: Everyone takes it as normal that
    you three scenery guys are doing great work, and that there
    are only smaller things left to criticize. That doesn't mean
    that those are unimportant "cosmetics", though.   ;-)
