?> There are other grounds we may be able to sue on besides GPL, though,
such as false advertising! Only a lawyer can help us figure out what is
going wrong here. Please look at http://www.softwarefreedom.org/ to see if
anyone there can help us

Absolutely, re the advertising. My main concern about this 'product' is that
potential purchasers are seriously underinformed of the main fact, namely
that what they are buying is something that is already freely available
elsewhere. In terms of the GPL, as far as I can see, there has to be a very
strong argument that what the guy is doing is outside the very limited and
specific scope of what is allowed to be charged for by the GPL.

There's no need to fall into the trap of assuming that the GPL is a carte
blanche for commercial activities. It clearly isn't or these two clauses
would not be so specifically worded.

Personally I'd be happy for this guy to make his money if it was clear on
his main web page that what he was selling was the repackaging and delivery
of a freely-available, open source flight simulator. It seems to be that at
the moment, the price that he feels able to charge relies heavily on this
fact not being immediately apparent.
