There's heck of a lot of functionality to be done before version 1.0.
For example, plane to plane "chat" for Multi-Player. The list goes on.
I'd say that there will be another release in 12-18 months time, but it
might be 0.9.10 rather than 1.0.

In the meantime, aircraft which authors think are good enough for use by
the public should still be submitted to be included in the Flightgear
hangar.
