Strictly speaking, links should not be duplicated on a web page. I guess I would vote for not making the logo a link if you already have a Home button.

Otherwise, it's probably not that big a deal, so long as you label it correctly with an alt tag saying "Home Page."

I agree with you about the convention - I'll put it back in even though it is redundant redundant.

I had thought of one case where it might be annoying, and that would be for a screen reader user, who would alway have to hear the two identical links read at the top of every page. But I'm not sure how annoying that would be and I've never checked with anyone about this ;)

I agree with you guys--the logo being a link to home is a standard convention/pattern that all websites should follow.

1) Should the Fluid logo at the top be an actual link to the home page?

Actually I question if it is really needed, since the HOME menu item is just below the logo

I consider it a standard convention

Yes, that's what I was thinking: standard convention. I've been re-reading "Don't Make Me Think" recently, including the part about how that practice has become a convention, and so people expect it. I agree that it seems unnecessary when there is a Home link right under it, but some people will still click on the logo, expecting it to take them home, and since there's no harm in making it a link...
