Dear Protel EDA users,
Is someone collecting a list of enhancements ?
Here's something that's bugged me long enough:
It would be helpful if ``Design | Option... | Options | [X] Electrical Grid''
enabled not only snapping to the endpoints of lines and arcs, but also the
geometric center of a circle. Mechanical engineers give me DXF files with arcs
and circles everywhere, and I need to place PWB drill holes centered on the
circles that indicate screw locations and alignment pegs.
(Current work around: draw a line near the circle, then copy the X and Y
coordinates of the center of the circle to the X and Y coordinates of one
endpoint of the line. Then I can snap to that endpoint. More hassle than it
needs to be.)
A respected member of the Protel user community suggested these other snap
points:
* mid points of lines
* corners of fills
* quadrants of arcs
* centroid of a selection
* what else ?
Other enhancements that would be helpful:
Under ``Design | Classes | Component'', right next to the ``select all members
of this class'' button, I wish there were a ``Deselect all members of this
class'' button.
I wish there were an option to "toggle all selections". (Similar to ``Select |
All'', except if something were *already* selected, it would make it not
selected).
I'm going to be really embarrassed if this stuff is already built in to Protel,
because I've hunted and hunted for it.
