I guess I have to respond as I set up the scenario under discussion.

Yes, quite a few designs over the past 5 years, for this approach. I must note
I have done their boards for over 12 years. Not many products but many
produced boards. To be fair this customer is unique in the fact that we have
gone from proto to full production with no design modifications (meaning
ONE check cycle, no kidding). They will call me in January and say the
package is coming in May but shows up in July or August.
They REALLY seem to have their ducks in a row.

I don't even know where to find funding for that, although I agree it sounds like
a good idea. My BIG problem is my customer may find this proprietary
and not want it published. I brought it up as a need to have Protel
address my needs for challenging designs.
