I have just looked in more detail into the possibility of overriding the
default XY location status bar display and I suspect I have misunderstood
the question, originally.
It may be possible to override the normal move object function(s) and for
the duration of the move show a revised status bar that shows the distance
the object has been moved as well as the actual coordinates. But it
requires more effort in understanding the API than I am prepared to spend
just now. It may be different if we could talk openly..... Also it might
get slightly ugly as I suspect the status bar display would suffer
unpleasant flicker.
This suggestion may need to be implemented at a lower level that possible
using the API. So add it to the suggestion list:
Suggestions that I recall for the XY display in the status bar:
1) Show both metric and imperial coords simultaneously
2) When dragging an object/selection etc show the distance the object has
been moved. Much like the track length is displayed during track placement
I s'pose.
Any others?
