On Vista there's a limit of 31* symlinks per directory, so I guess it's not really an option. I'm not sure what behavior would be if there are more than 31 symlinks in repository -- throw an error? > Developers of both systems have rejected the support because of the > requirement of elevated privileges for creating (not reading) NTFS > symlinks. The privilege elevation can be globally disabled. I didn't know about this requirement, thanks. > There was some discussion on this topic in msysgit about a year or two > ago. AFAIK, cygwin has some hacky simulated support for symlinks where it creates .lnk shortcuts or something. I don't know the details, though. * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbolic_link#Windows_7_.26_Vista_symbolic_link -- Dmitry Chestnykh _______________________________________________ fossil-users mailing list fossil-users@lists.fossil-scm.org http://lists.fossil-scm.org:8080/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fossil-users
