Unix typically calls them "FIFO" and they were a System V (or thereabouts) invention, circa 1982-1983. Though they might not been bidirectional till they were reimplemented on top of SysV streams subsystem (86-87). Xenix was mostly SysV afaik. _______________________________________________ fpc-pascal maillist - fpc-pascal@lists.freepascal.org http://lists.freepascal.org/mailman/listinfo/fpc-pascal
