(Sorry, couldn't resist.) Well, not quite. The Unarchiver claims [1] to support the Rar format, and, indeed, its unar(1) command-line counterpart (?) unpacks 6 files of 68 (as of blocek_1.36b.rar.) Doesn't seem like a huge victory, though, but it may indicate that the use of the Rar format won't be an issue for the free software community. Eventually, that is.
