Yes, it's possible, but that means that the user would have to install all the packages even if they don't intend to record anything assuming that the dependency list is the sum total requirements for freevo.

freevo rpm package before releasing it.

Yes, I think so. I don't think Freevo should be fragmented like this and there aren't many deps anyways. For python you need to install twisted and that's required for the webserver and possibly more anyways.
