I am very interested in this, I still ahve analog cable because of the fact that I don't wanna have lots of boxes around the house to watch tv and for things like freevo. If there is a reasonable hardware/software soln I would be very interested. Has anyone in the US done this??
Also, I don't seem to be able to find xawtv-decrypt, I see something that is supposed to unscrable analog tv, but that is not so much what I am looking for.
opps i made a boo-boo! :P
the program is actually called xawtvdecode not xawtvdecrypt. its available at: http://www.descos.com/linux.htm
they also seem to have a few other decoding apps for video, although the site is in french and my french isnt that good anymore.
but im sure if you play around you'll find something that suits your needs.
Also, when looking around last night - i found some digi tuner cards that have a slot for smart-cards (like those supplied by most cable providers), so theres a more legal way aswell.
cheers & beers, rohbags.
