So there will be only a limited VGA fb by default, even with KMS. Simple solution is to compile them only as modules but this would render not intel hardware useless. I guess its possible to tell the kernel to switch console to inteldrmfb as soon as it gets available but I've no idea how and if this would work with splashy.
